In order to promote the rural revitalization and agricultural and rural modernization of Guizhou Province, the College of Agriculture, Guizhou University has actively given full play to the advantages of disciplines and specialties, and carried out the action of “selecting ten technical teams to be stationed in ten model villages, organizing 100 professional teachers to serve Guizhou’s agricultural industry, and organizing 1,000 master's and doctoral students to serve rural revitalization” (hereinafter referred to as “Ten, Hundred and Thousand” Action) to empower rural revitalization with high-quality education.
The College of Agriculture integrates the faculty of the whole college, based on the development of the characteristic agricultural industry of our province, and gives full play to the talent advantage of 121 professors (doctor), and establishes 16 industrial technical teams of rice, corn, sorghum, soybean, vegetables, kiwi fruit, rosa roxbunghii, traditional Chinese medicine, walnut, dendrobium, fine fruit, ornamental horticulture, pepper, edible fungi, plant protection and soil fertilizer, to jointly carry out technology integration, promotion and demonstration projects around technologies such as germplasm resource creation, soil improvement, green prevention and control of plant diseases and insect pests, precise fertilization, agricultural mechanization, intelligentization and post-harvest processing. It coordinates and guides the “Ten, Hundred and Thousand” action work, and uses scientific research and innovation to serve the realistic needs of rural revitalization and the development of “agriculture, rural areas and farmers”.
Through the establishment of ten technical teams and the selection of ten technical village chiefs, the College of Agriculture has carried out technical services around rice, fruits, vegetables, Chinese medicinal herbs, flowers and other industries to help local leading industries improve quality and efficiency and drive farmers to increase their income and become rich in 10 villages, including Lexiang Village of Zhongcheng Town of Rongjiang County, Damu Village of Liutun Town of Xiuwen County, Huawu Village of Xinren Town of Qianxi city, Shuguang Village of Bandi Township of Weining, Guojiawan Village of Yayu Township of Yuping Township, Tanping Village of Rongdu Town of Ceheng County, Zhouping Village of Zhuxi Town of Cengong County, Yayuan Village of Zhuxi Town of Cengong County, Linjiang Village of Jinhua Town of Fenggang County and Longbao Village of Gaofeng Town of Gui'an New Area. At the same time, it also focuses on practical education and cultivating and studying education, mobilizing more than 1,600 students to eat, live and work with the majority of farmers, cultivating native land emotion and the emotions of “agriculture, rural areas and farmers”, training a large number of new talents who know agriculture and love agriculture, and striving to play an important leading role in the province's university system's strategic action to serve rural revitalization, and realize the organic combination of Guizhou University's “double first-class” discipline construction, the high-quality connotation-based development of the college, and the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy.
